About
Our Databases:
Newsletter Database
- This search engine can be used to locate
articles on specific topics that were written about in On Tap and
Water Sense, NESC's former drinking water newsletters. Once you
search for a topic, you can download an electronic copy of the newsletter
in which the article appeared. Not all newsletters dating back to 1992
are available for downloading at this time; however, they soon will be.
If you prefer to have printed versions of the newsletters, contact NESC.
Back issues will be sent to you free of charge.
If your search results in no newsletter articles about your keyword subject,
call and ask to speak with a drinking water technical assistance specialist.
Staff can research your topic and provide you with information.
Literature
Database - NESC's Drinking Water Literature Database
contains more than 1000 article abstracts from trade and scientific journals,
research papers, and government documents. Topics include wellhead protection,
drinking water regulations, water conservation, treatment technologies,
and operation and maintenance of water treatment systems.
Technical assistance specialists conduct literature searches for callers
that provide journal and article titles, volume numbers, author names,
and an abstract or summary, which helps you decide if the information
contained in the article is what you really need.
The database contains information from the NESCs two former drinking
water newsletters, On Tap and Water Sense. Topics covered
in past issues include:
groundwater protection,
water system design,
water treatment processes,
water conservation,
drinking water regulations,
water quality, and
finance.

The Registry of Equipment Suppliers of Treatment Technologies for Small
Systems (RESULTS) database gives small communities and regulators information
about technologies successfully used across the U.S. RESULTS is a valuable
tool for evaluating different technologies when replacing or upgrading
current treatment systems. Equipment suppliers will also find RESULTS
to be an effective marketing tool for reaching potential customers.
The most recent RESULTS version includes information from more than 1,000
sites, including all 50 states and some systems in Canada. The database
also includes approximately 250 vendors who manufacture and supply drinking
water technologies.
RESULTS presents a number of technologies including filtration, corrosion
control, ion exchange and demineralization, aeration, disinfection and
oxidation, and organics and inorganics removal.
Searching the database is easy. Using different criteria, searches may
be conducted to learn the location of a particular system, vendors, or
manufacturers of certain technologies; a specific technology used by another
system; and the type of drinking water contaminant removed.
This most recent version of RESULTS is an NDWC project funded by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
