Established in 1993, the National Onsite Demonstration Program (NODP) was developed to encourage the use of alternative, onsite and wastewater treatment technologies to protect public health, ensure water quality, and sustain the environment in small and rural communities. The NODP is funded through the United States Congress, administered by the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and directed by the National Environmental Services Center of the National Research Center for Coal & Energy at West Virginia University. NODP projects throughout the country focus on integrating technology and management to help communities fund, install, monitor, and effectively manage onsite wastewater systems as cost-effective viable alternatives to full central sewage systems. Through its innovative Onsite Management Systems 2100 (OMS2100) framework, NODP offers a wide range of cutting-edge community wastewater technology and management consulting expertise, professional products, online services, and solutions to help communities develop effective onsite management systems. Our Commitment It is becoming increasingly important to manage onsite wastewater technologies effectively to ensure public health, improve water quality, and sustain the environment. Now and in the future, we at the NODP will continue to focus our efforts, energy, expertise, and resources on helping America's small communities to determine how best to manage all aspects of their onsite wastewater activities. We are committed to the concept of integrating technology and management within the innovative OMS2100 framework to meet this end. |
